After several years in academia, I decided to strike out on my own and I am now pursuing an range of miscellaneous projects while living the good life.
I was born in Windhoek (Namibia), but grew up in Skukuza (in the Kruger National Park, South Afirca). I studied Mathematics at Rhodes University (South Africa) and stayed on to complete a PhD and a postdoc in geometric control theory. I moved to Pretora (South Africa) in 2017 where I joined the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at the University of Pretoria. After some harrowing pandemic years, I relocated to Bathurst (Eastern Cape, South Africa) in 2022.
My hobbies include reading, cooking, photography (all the banners on this site are my own photos), and gaming (on pc); I am also quite partial to some good wine.
